Emilie's Activities for European Day of Languages

This year for European Day of Languages with all her schools, Emilie revisited an activity she used a couple of years ago with Years 3 and 4 based on French greetings throughout the day. The children enjoyed learning different greetings expressions such as ‘bonne après-midi’ etc. Their favourite was by far ‘coucou’! Then they made speech bubbles with their preferred greeting word and we practiced freeze frames with the speech bubbles discussing the importance of body language and facial expressions when  talking with people.

In Years 5 and 6, Emilie created raps (using Autorap) using greetings from other European countries such as ‘hola’, ‘ciao’, etc.
